I am a performance and theatre maker working both in and outside of theatre spaces.

Collaboration is central to my creative life and I work with a variety of inspiring artists and people in differing roles as a deviser, performer, director, facilitator and in a workshop context. After seven years of working with my theatre company The Special Guests (which I co-founded in 2002) I am currently developing my own practice outside of the company as a solo maker and with Jo Bannon. I am interested in forging new collaborations and working practices including developing a holistic approach whereby my practice encompasses my youth theatre and educational work rather than being a separate strand.
I am interested in the potential of theatre to re-make the world as we see it as well as the communal possibilities of theatre - what we can achieve and experience when we come together as a group. I am attracted to making 'event theatre" by which I mean a work that has something of the event about it - perhaps it is only performed once, perhaps it is site or time-specific or made for a particular context. I like making performance with people and audiences and using their specialisms, stories and experience to form or be the work.
